Hi, my name is Amy, and I am a wife and Mother to a son and daughter.
I am also a fully qualified and insured Holistic Massage Therapist.
I have been interested healing, astonomy, astrology, palm reading and crystal therapy since I was little.
I qualified as a Holistic Massage Therapist in 2010, but prior to becoming a therapist I studied Window Display, Prop Making and Art and Design at college. I went on to work for various retailers doing window display in the local shopping centre like The Bear Factory and The Perfume Shop. When I reached my early 20's I started doing office jobs like customer service and administraton. I used to maintain a website and do photography for The Collector Zone. Unfortunately that company went into administration in 2007 which was a real shame becuase I loved that job! But I had to move on... so I became an order processor for Optoma, - they sold projectors - it wasn't the best job, it wasn't very exciting and worked in a room with no windows - so that wasn't very good for my health. I didn't last there very long - about 6 months afterwards I had a mental breakdown and was signed off work because I kept having panic attacks. I gave up work for a while and got therapy and had lots of holistic treatments - like reiki and reflexology as well as massage which helped a lot whilst I was trying to sort my head out.
I did eventually get back to work as a merchandiser but after I while I decided I wanted to embark on a new career.
I went to The Belmore Holistic Training Academy in Aylesbury and learned to become a holistic therapist.
I found the same a course that had been studied by the best therapist I had ever received a massage from and upon completion I gained an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Swedish Massage including Anatomy & Physiology & Business Awareness with a Credit to my name.
Since then I have never looked back.
In 2010 "the seeds" for Climbing Rose Holistic Therapies "were sown" and I officially opened for business in June, when I was still living in Watford with my fiancé at the time, who is now my husband. I worked as a mobile therapist back then but I also worked from home and continued to do so even after I relocated to Bristol April in 2012.
Before I moved out west I gained another diploma in Advanced Massage Techniques including Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Techniques at Welywn Garden City in June 2011.
I relocated to Weston Super Mare in July 2014, shortly after I found out I was expecting my first child.
Being a therapist fits very nicely around being a mother. And I love the freedom of being able to work for myself. Being a therapist gives me a real sense of achievement. I love being able to make a real difference in peoples lives.
And I very much look forward to being able to work with you.
